| General Notes
on Workshops
|
post
theater generates workshops for various reasons, including their
believe in sharing artistic, academic and other forms of experience
amongst artists | on all career levels and including students
of all disciplines. post theater believes that educational work
should be part of a complete job profile for professional artists,
since it allows artist a reflection of their own experiences gained
in professional art practice.
There are no standard post theater workshops, as post theater
intends to customize each workshop for a specific group of participants,
a specific length and specific goals. post theater prefers site-
and / or occasion-specific workshops with local artists. post
theater strongly recommends workshops that aim at presenting a
performance or installation at the end of the workshop to an audience.
Frequent topics in post theater workshops are: haptic media, site-specific-multi-media
performances, over-all dramaturgy, spatial dramaturgy, documentary-based
performance work, media-dance, media-environments | just to name
a few of post theaterfs working methods that can be explored
in post theater works.
In the case of gExpress Fight Clubh, the aim of the workshop
is to create a new interpretation of the post theater performance
by the same name. This has been done in Taiwan in 2009 and will
be happening in Bulgaria in the Fall of 2010 again.
post theater prefers to conduct workshops for heterogenic groups
of people with different artistic / professional / or other backgrounds.
Often, the participants are performers, choreographers and media
artists etc., but depending on the context, non artists and artists
of other disciplines are welcome.
All post theater workshops are conducted by one or both of the
artistic directors of post theater, Max Schumacher and Hiroko
Tanahashi. Depending on the focus and length of the workshop,
other post theater artists are joining.
